Understanding how much Revenue your county makes and who pays for it

This 2006 manual from what we have gathered hasn't changed very much as far as Rhea County is concerned. I'm sure you already know that you are forced to pay a property tax. But how many other "little taxes" do you pay? Think about it. Let's say you make one dollar for a month of wages. That is $12 a year you have made for your hard work. Okay, I know this number is extremely small but it makes it easier to understand. Big numbers confuse the mind,, in fact, maybe that is part of the deal. If big numbers are used we simply "hire" someone or pass it off to someone else to worry about it as we all find ourselves working more and more yet we are keeping less and less.

Now out of your $12 yearly salary, we will not deduct the federal governments cut of income taxes and all the other "little" penny here or penny there taxes. We also won't figure in the social security, insurance and other deductions that actually come straight of the top of your $12 a year. Now, on the state level you also get milked out of even more money but we are not concerned with that one either. We want you to see how your very own local county government has you to bend over a little farther so they cam ram the rod in just a little deeper, But hey, be thankful you do not live in a city because if you do then, well, the city gets their little cut of what little you have left of your initial $12 pay for the year.

Now, I have no intention of drawing a picture for you explaining to you how you are not working for you and your fasmily but you are working for the priveledge to "work" under the guise of working for your family. You work, you pay. Your elected officials work, they get paid. But heck, the can take a month off and their deputies or appointed clerks simply do the work for them. So maybe the REAL way to work and make a living is to get yourself elected into some sort of office. I suggest you unplug your head and snap into a reality in which you live and STOP relying on people that will say anything and pretty much do anything to keep their nice local county level jobs. Then again, don't worry about it and be glad that out of your $12 a year you get to end up owing $6 more than you made....Welcome to the real world!
