Police Brutality and Police Misconduct

The most well-known example of police misconduct is police brutality, but this is only one way the public can be victimized. Police misconduct also includes accepting bribes, improper search and seizures, harassment and racism in law enforcement just to name a few. Police misconduct violates the oath of peace officers and their responsibilities as public servants. Victims of police misconduct can be wrongfully convicted of crimes, lose property and freedom, and face social stigmatization.

It is vital that YOU be prepared for anything that may come your way. For example, if you go on a camping trip, do you prepare? Do you take what all you need for a happy, safe camping trip? What about going hunting... Do you take a rifle but forget your bullets? Do you go hunting for a Grizzly Bear only to remember that not only did you forget your bullets you forgot your gun? Get the picture yet?

So what about when you get blue lighted and pulled over by a cop, what then? Do you clammer up all scared because this "person in a uniform" might take you to jail? Geeez people, get real and think logically for a second. First, before you can even go to jail the dude MUST have a "probable cause" established and it isn't the hickified "probly cause ya' want to" either. These people simply cannot go around throwing people in jail but it sure seems that they do doesn't it? As I have always said, keep your mouth shut when dealing with police. Other than providing your name you have no obligation to tell them anything. I jnow the uniform, badge, gun and strobe lights are very intimidating but that is exactly the purpose. To display authority. Think about it for a second. What would you do if a vehicle with green or yellow lights gets you to pull over and a fellow dressed up in a milkman uniform started asking you questions? The same thing applies to everyone. If you are being investigated for a crime, cool. Let them do whatever it is they need to do and you just be cool and go along for the ride.

Even if you were jailed on let's say some simple misdemeanor charge what really is going to happen? Well, number one is you go to jail. Sure, it's jail and we hate jail. That is a logical purpose for a jail. After all, if jail was a "happy place" we'd all enjoy going there. But then again, if you read up on the 8th Amendment and applicable case law, you will find being in jail entitles you to lots of cool stuff such as cable, clean water, climate controlled environment, a bed (do NOT sleep on a floor without suing them afterwards) 3 meals per day, free medical care, telephone access, free cool-aid, free butt paper and all of this comes with pretty much the same thing as ROOM SERVICE. Remember, you are locked in a cell and can't go do these things for yourself soooooo, THEY must do all these things for you. If not, then there would be no such thing as jailors/corrections officers now would there?

Imagine having stage 3 cancer and some cop threatens to jail you for walking downtown naked. You are arrested. You then cuss them, argue, resist, get slapped around a little bit and get a few more "misdemeanor" charges added on. Then refuse bail. Just flop down in a cell and claim your little section of the world and have a friend bring you money for "goodies". Sit in there for the several months it will take for your docket number to even come up. By then the county will spend countless amounts on your medical needs. Oh, they may act like they don't have to but they can also piss on your leg and say it's raining and if you are too stupid to lnow the difference then tough for you then, right? But for people that educate themselves in a system designed to MAKE money and NOT SPEND money, you can prevail.

Now remember, these little tid-bits aren't for everyone. My happy ass will post a bail then deal with it. But if I were homeless, down on my luck, no medical insurance, cold, hungry, no mission in town to help me, no coat, tooth hurts, bach aches, leg pain then I'd want all my bad luck to become theirs and I'd very quickly become THEIR pain. More than likely those little misdemanor charges will get dropped very fast once they see you are settling in for the long haul and throw you out of the jail.

After all, how else do we learn other than to learn something the "hard way". The "hard way" is often effective but as for me I'd rather do things the "easy way". Sort of like water, to take the path of least resistance. Like I say, educate yourself and learn the 3 steps of TRUTH that you always seen in my little scrolling marquee banner. Just as with everything else worthwhile we all have to do things ourselves, prepare for ourselves, defend ourselves and EDUCATE ourselves.
